Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin’s son Knox Kiffin will lead Oxford vs Tupelo in the Mississippi high school football Class 7A semifinals on Nov. 28. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Knox Kiffin is a sophomore quarterback and Class of 2028 prospect who has played in the past six games at quarterback for Oxford (11-1), taking over when the starter got injured. That included leading comeback wins in the first two games.
The winner of the Oxford-Tupelo game will play the winner of the Brandon-Gulfport game in the Class 7A championship game on Dec. 6 in Starkville at Mississippi State’s Davis Wade Stadium.

After scoring three unanswered touchdowns to end the first half, Oxford struggled on offense to start the second half. Knox Kiffin suffered his first sack on second down, lost five yards, and fumbled.
The Chargers recovered the ball, but had to punt two plays later.
Tupelo scored on its first possession of the second half to trim Oxford’s lead to 20-14.

Lane Kiffin’s first tweet came after Tupelo fumbled near the goal line in the first quarter putting Knox Kiffin and the Oxford offense back on the field.
Knox Kiffin’s third long touchdown pass, which came with 1:32 left in the first half, gave Oxford a 20-7 lead. The extra point kick was missed, but Kiffin’s strong arm gave the Chargers the heavy momentum heading into halftime after falling behind 7-0 early.
Kiffin ended the half 4-of-9 passing for 136 yards.
Knox Kiffin threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Stribling to give Oxford its first lead at 14-7 with 5:54 left in the first half.
Stribling was heavily coverage when he made the catch at the Tupelo 2-yard line.
Kiffin is now 3-of-8 passing for 106 yards with two touchdowns.
After three straight incompletions Knox Kiffin hit Kevin Smith Jr. with a 36-yard pass down the right sideline late in the first quarter.
On the next play Kiffin hit Smith with a 38-yard touchdown strike to tie the game at 7-7 with 35 seconds left in the first quarter.

Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin tweeted from the game midway through the first quarter after Oxford recovered a Tupelo fumble deep in Chargers’ territory.
The turnover put Knox Kiffin and the Oxford offense back on the field for the second time in the scoreless game.
It was not a good start for quarterback Knox Kiffin and the Oxford offense. The line made three false starts on the first series leaving Kiffin needing 25 yards for a first down on third down.
Kiffin threw three consecutive incomplete passes and the Chargers punted after that.

Lane Kiffin’s family has been thrust in the spotlight of the LSU and Florida coaching search. According to multiple reports, some Kiffin family members visited Gainesville, Florida, and Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the days after Ole Miss beat Florida on Nov. 15.
On3 reported that Kiffin’s son, Knox, and ex-wife Layla met with Buchholz High School football coach Mark Whittemore on Nov. 16. His team is 10-1. Buchholz is in Gainesville, and it is where Layla went to high school, according to the report.
In an SEC teleconference on Nov. 19, Kiffin was asked about his family, and if his children being in high school and college make it harder to move than if they were younger.
“I do think that people with time change and, maybe when they’re younger you make really fast decisions — which I’ve gone on record, said that before — in life, and in situations,” Kiffin said. “And I think as you get older and more mature and look at things different, maybe you take longer to make the proper decision. I would say that, just in general.”

Knox Kiffin is a 6-foot-2, 170-pound recruit in the class of 2028.
He has eight offers, according to 247Sports, including SMU, Arkansas State, Western Kentucky, Sacramento State, Murray State, Georgia State, FIU and East Carolina.
Where has Knox Kiffin visited?
Knox visited LSU for the game against South Carolina on Oct. 11 and visited Alabama on Nov. 8 for the game against LSU.
