Arch Manning stats: How Texas football QB performed vs Texas A&M

The play was designed for Texas football quarterback Arch Manning to pick up a handful of yards and convert on a key third-and-short in the fourth quarter of the Longhorns’ game against Texas A&M.

He emerged from a big hole in the line of scrimmage, juked out an Aggie linebacker, then sprinted 35 yards to the end zone, outrunning a defensive back on the way.

That touchdown helped Manning recover from an ugly first half and lead the Longhorns to a 27-17 victory over their bitter rivals.

Manning’s other touchdown on the night came on an improvised play in the third quarter, when Manning escaped the pocket and threw 29 yards down the field to a wide-open Ryan Wingo, who made an acrobatic catch in the end zone.

Manning finished the night 14-for-29 through the air for 179 yards and a touchdown. He also picked up 53 yards and a touchdown on the ground.
