TEXAS: A short punt set the Longhorns up at their own 36-yard-line to start their second drive. An incompletion and a short run set up another third-and-long situation, and Manning failed to connect with Ryan Wingo on a deep ball to set up another punt.
A&M: On A&M’s second possession, Reed failed to connect with his targets on back-to-back plays and set up a three-and-out and a punt.
TEXAS: Arch connected with tight end Jack Endries for an 11-yard gain and a first down. Texas rushed for five total yards across its next two plays. On third down, Manning threw another deep ball for Wingo, but the pass fell incomplete. The Aggies defended the play physically, and the fans booed when a flag wasn’t thrown.
