Group ‘armed with weapon’ at Merry Hill shopping centre as teenager stabbed

A teenager was stabbed at a busy shopping centre after a ‘group was seen armed with a weapon’.
The victim, a male, was attacked at Merry Hill shopping centre in Brierley Hill, Dudley, at 3.39pm today (November 28).
Police and paramedics rushed to the scene after the violent incident took place on one of the busiest shopping days of the year.

The teenager received a minor injury and was taken to hospital for further treatment.
West Midlands Police has stepped up patrols in the area providing reassurance to shoppers.
The force has appealed for anyone with information to contact officers.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We received reports of a group armed with a weapon in Merry Hill shopping centre at just after 3.30pm today (28 November).
“One person sustained a minor injury and has received medical attention.
“Officers are in the area as we investigate who was involved and provide reassurance.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: “We were called to reports of a stabbing near at Merry Hill at 3.39pm, one ambulance, a paramedic officer and the Trust’s Critical Care Car attended the scene.
“On arrival we discovered one patient, a teenage male.
“He was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to hospital for further assessment.”
