9.18pm A bit of a hiccup towards the end but Babar takes Pakistan home. He finishes on 37 not out off 34 balls, the sort of innings the situation demanded. The win, of course, was set by Pakistan’s spinners: Abrar, Nawaz and Ayub. At one point, Sri Lanka looked good for 170, perhaps even more. But the trio put the brakes on the scoring rate with regular strikes. Sri Lanka needed a miracle after being bowled out for 114. There wasn’t one.
