Will there be a season 3 of ‘Landman?’

Season 2 of “Landman” kicked off on Sunday, Nov. 16, and fans of the Taylor Sheridan show are already wondering about the next chapter.

Paramount+ hasn’t officially confirmed season 3 of “Landman,” but one of the show’s stars recently let an update slip.

“I’m excited to see what unfolds in season 3. I mean, we’re talking about season 2, but that’s backstory for us at this point. We’re all kind of looking toward April and May when we start shooting season 3,” Sam Elliott, who joined the season 2 cast as oil man Tommy Norris’ (Billy Bob Thornton) father, T.L., told Extra TV earlier this week.

Thornton, meanwhile, told USA Today that he signed on to “Landman” for “four or five years.”

It seems there’s plenty more in store for fans of the drama series. In fact, series co-creator Christian Wallace recently told The Hollywood Reporter that the “Landman” writing team “barely skimmed the surface” of the show’s potential during season 1.

“And again, after season two, I feel like we’re still just skimming the surface,” Wallace said. “Our cast has added so much depth to the characters. They know them so well now that they make it easy to tell an entertaining story.”

If “Landman” season 3 is filmed in the spring of 2026, as Elliott suggested, it could premiere as early as fall 2026. The first season debuted in November 2024, followed by season 2 just one year later.

Wallace told THR that he thinks “it’s the plan” for season 3 to debut in 2026.

“We hate to make people wait too long, and we’re all excited to get back and do it again. After we wrap, a couple weeks later, we’re like, ‘Dang, I miss everybody’ — cast and crew,“ Wallace said. ”We have such a great crew. I think we’re ready to get back to it as soon as we can.”

Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Landman.”

In season 2 of “Landman”, Tommy has more responsibility and more problems. After M-Tex Oil CEO Monty Miller’s (Jon Hamm) death in the season 1 finale, Tommy became president of the company. He advises Monty’s widow, Cami (Demi Moore), to sell M-Tex, but she wants to stay in business.

New episodes of “Landman” premiere on Paramount+ on Sundays at 3 a.m. ET.
