Juventus returned to winning ways in Serie A by defeating Cagliari 2-1, thanks to a stellar performance from the young Kenan Yildiz. However, the joy of the victory was overshadowed by the muscle injury that forced Dusan Vlahovic to limp off the field.
The Bianconeri managed to end their streak of three consecutive draws and took a step forward following their midweek Champions League victory.
The match at the Allianz Stadium had a turbulent start for Juventus. Marco Palestra assisted for Cagliari to take the lead in the 26th minute with a goal from Sebastiano Esposito. Nonetheless, the Bianconeri’s response was immediate.
A minute later, Kenan Yildiz leveled the score with a brilliant finish. The young Turkish forward established himself as the standout player by turning the score around in stoppage time of the first half with his second goal (45+1′), a precise shot that changed the course of the match.
The moment of tension came shortly after the equalizer. After attempting a shot that was saved by goalkeeper Elia Caprile, Dusan Vlahovic suffered a muscle problem in the play and had to be substituted, visibly affected, by Jonathan David.
The injury to the Serbian forward adds to an infirmary that already included several players. Although Juventus controlled the second half and deserved to extend their lead, the main concern for the coaching staff now centers on the severity of Vlahovic’s injury.
