Fortnite servers down – How long is maintenance scheduled for Chapter 7

There’s good news and bad news for Fortnite fans, as the game is taken offline for server maintenance as part of the new season.

The Fortnite Zero Hour event has been and gone, which means the new season is about to begin, complete with Kill Bill and Back to the Future crossovers.

According to Epic Games, Fortnite update 39.00 is coming to PS5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 and Android on November 29. It adds a brand new map, a new Battle Pass and lots of new gameplay features.

Unfortunately, however, the good news ends there, because the new content won’t be available until server maintenance comes to an end.

When does Fortnite server downtime begin?

Fortnite servers will be taken offline following the conclusion of the ‘Zero Hour’ end of season event.

Specifically, Fortnite servers will be taken offline at 7.30pm GMT UK time. That’s 2..30pm EDT and 11.30 am PDT.

The news was announced by Epic Games on X, alongside a preview about what to expect from the new season.

“FYI: Fortnite game servers will be offline following the Zero Hour live event while we release v39.00! Downtime should last several hours.”

When are Fortnite servers scheduled to be back online for Chapter 7?

According to the Fortnite server status page, server downtime is currently scheduled to last for several hours. This means the game should be offline for around 5-hours.

The game should be back online for the new season between 12am – 12.30am GMT UK time on November 30.
