Duce Robinson responds to question about whether he would return in 2026

Florida State football has had an underwhelming 2025 season. It started with an opening victory against the Alabama Crimson Tide, but it started to plummet after the Seminoles’ road matchup with Virginia.
Head football coach Mike Norvell was listed on the “hot seat” once again, and the program had to play for its leader to retained for the Seminoles in 2026. Florida State has been one of the more inconsistent football teams this year.
It has been unfortunate because the Seminoles have had the luxury of having wide receiver Duce Robinson, who has been sensational. The former USC transfer has recorded 53 receptions for 1,021 yards and six touchdowns (according to ESPN Stats and Information) and is now tenth on Florida State’s all-time receiving yardage total in a season.
This could be a perfect time to add to his resume, as the Seminoles travel to Gainesville to take on the arch-rival Florida Gators. Their program has nothing to play with not having their head football coach and have a 3-8 record. However, the Gators will still try to play hard for their fans.
Even with the rivalry game, Duce Robinson was asked during Tuesday’s press conference if he would be back in 2026, which is where he made the following statement:
“I think there is a time and place for that conversation. Right now, all of my focus is on Florida and doing my best to make sure that I’ve prepared well and try to make a bowl game. “
Florida State has relied so much on Robinson this season. However, the Seminoles have now mentioned that there could be massive changes to the football program with retaining Mike Norvell for the 2026 season. This could include a new offensive coordinator.
Robinson would probably not benefit from coming back in his senior season, as the Seminoles could be breaking in a new quarterback and an entire offensive line. The offense will be in transition once again.
While it might seem like the 6’6″ pass catcher could benefit from having a signal-caller that could be a better passer, I don’t think he will take the risk of losing money that the NFL could offer him.
