A post-Thanksgiving snow storm is blanketing much of the Midwest, including most of Iowa.

Large portions of the state saw several inches of snow, with more expected throughout Saturday, Nov. 29.

Where were the highest snowfall totals in Iowa?

Here are the areas across the state with the highest snowfall through 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29.

  • Fort Dodge: 13.5 inches
  • Ackley: 13.5 inches
  • Clarion: 12.5 inches
  • Dike: 12 inches
  • Stout: 12 inches

How much snow did Des Moines get?

Central Iowa generally had around 3.8 to 8.8 inches of snow through 5 p.m. Saturday, according to Weather.gov. It comes as the area remains under a winter storm warning until Sunday morning.

  • Johnston: 3.8 inches
  • Des Moines International Airport: 6.9 inches
  • Polk City: 7.1 inches
  • West Des Moines: 7 inches
  • Norwalk: 8.8 inches
