Stephanie Vaquer took down ally-turned-rival Nikki Bella on Saturday night to keep her reign as WWE Women’s World Champion alive.
Vaquer scored the pinfall win in 12 minutes against Bella as part of the WWE Survivor Series: WarGames Premium Live Event (PLE) from Petco Park in San Diego, California this weekend.
“La Primera,” who has held her title since September, connected with a Corkscrew Splash off the top rope to put away former world champ Bella. Prior to the pin, she hit the Devil’s Kiss twice, including on top of the English commentary desk.
Bella had some moments in the match as well, including a Rack Attack 2.0 halfway through the bout, causing a near fall.
Bella turned against Vaquer on TV a few weeks back, betraying her locker room friend and making it clear that she wants her world title. Bella was aiming to earn her first gold on Saturday since a run with the WWE Divas Championship back in 2015.
Vaquer has now taken down Bella, Raquel Rodriguez, and IYO SKY as part of a reign which started at Wrestlepalooza earlier this year.
