Pilot dead after light aircraft collide mid-air

A pilot has died after two light planes collided mid-air this morning in Sydney’s south-west.
Emergency services were called to Napper Field, in Wedderburn around 11:50am following reports of a crash.
Police were told two light aircraft had collided mid-air, before one of the planes crashed into nearby bushland.
The body of one of the pilots was located nearby.
The second plane was able to land safely, and the pilot was uninjured.
Members of the public are being urged to avoid the area.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) will investigate the cause of the crash.
