Arrest made after two men seriously injured in Altrincham incident

Two men are in hospital – one with life-threatening injuries and another with life-changing injuries – following a serious incident in Altrincham town centre in the early hours of this morning.
Greater Manchester Police were called shortly after 3:20am to reports of a disturbance on Railway Street, close to Altrincham Hospital.
Emergency services attended the scene and both men were taken to hospital for treatment.
One man has been arrested in connection with the incident and remains in custody for questioning.

GMP has sought to reassure the public that the incident is believed to be isolated. A large police presence remains in the area as officers continue their enquiries.
