‘Living hell’ inside Big Brother house

This year’s Big Brother housemates might be thankful this is a relatively brief season of the reality show, given both the budding romances in the house have well and truly soured.
Earlier this week, single mum Coco officially got the ick with her house crush Bruce after witnessing his aggressive behaviour while taking part in a hotel-themed challenge (in short: Grown man has to work a hospitality job for 24 hours. Grown man absolutely loses it).
Shortly after his outbursts, Coco told him she’d seen enough of his personality to know that, not only was her crush over, she wanted to keep her distance from him from now on.

And Holly and Colin’s burgeoning love affair, previously a flurry of under-the-covers kisses and flirty gestures, is now playing out like Marriage Story as the pair have prolonged tearful arguments around the house (much to the other contestants’ chagrin).
In Thursday night’s episode, they commandeered the laundry room for their latest barney, the other housemates tiptoeing around as they argued at length.
With the end of this Big Brother season looming, it seems one major cause of friction between the pair is 21-year-old aspiring MMA fighter Colin’s sneaking suspicion that 31-year-old model Holly will drop him as soon as they’re on the outside.
In yet another emotional diary room confession last night, Colin said it was a “living hell” trying to navigate his feelings for Holly under the watchful eye of Big Brother and his fellow housemates.

“I have to watch as everybody piles on her. I don’t wanna see that, ‘cause that’s my person. Everybody’s made their mind up about her, and it sucks seeing her get eaten alive on a 24/7 basis,” he said.
“People go to me and they go, ‘She’s using you.’ People go to her and are like, ‘You
have to get rid of Colin.’ I hate that I have to meet her in a place like this, ‘cause it just makes my life a living hell.”
Indeed, the coupley angst between the pair has cast such a shadow over the house this week that contestant Ed advised Holly to end the budding relationship now for everyone’s sanity.
“For the sake of your mental health, I think you guys should call it. That might sound like a big statement, but it’s affecting you too much, I feel like it’s just hurting you guys,” he told her.
“You’re putting yourself through an emotional rollercoaster, for the f**king sake of what? Having a cuddle at night? It’s not worth it.”
The former lovebirds’ long, slow divorce might be put to an end on Sunday, with Holly one of four housemates up for eviction. She’s up against Connor, Bruce and Vinnie as the season races to its December 8 grand finale.
