There’s been very heavy traffic on roads in York, including the eastbound carriageway of the A64 between Copmanthorpe and Fulford Interchange, this evening.
The result was many routes were at a standstill.
There have been long delays on the A19 through Fulford and the York Inner Ring Road has been very busy at major junctions too.
One reader said on the YorkMix Facebook post: “What should have been a 15min journey just took more than an hour.”
Demand for the Designer Outlet has been a factor, it’s been very busy with shoppers and people heading to the Winter Wonderland Ice Rink.
In the city centre, the Christmas Market has attracted a large number of people too, putting pressure on the Park and Ride services.
The heavy rain has also been making driving difficult.
