When asked to reflect on her remarkable previous year, which included an Oscar nomination and Golden Globe win for her performance in The Substance, a leading role in Landman, and recognition as one of Glamour’s Women of the Year, Moore’s response was emphatic. “Wow. That’s how I feel. Wow, what a great, fun year,” she said. The film revolves around a fading celebrity who uses a black-market drug to create a younger, enhanced version of herself. The role has also changed Moore’s relationship with the ageing process. Speaking to People during the Gotham Awards, she said, “I don’t know if I would contextualise it just around ageing as much as looking at the idea of how, over the course of my whole life, how much I have had judgement against myself that I can look back and go, ‘At 20, at 30.’” “I was finding things that weren’t good enough… and so my relationship with it now is much more in a joyous acceptance,” she added. Moore further said, “I mean, of course, there’s things that you go, ‘I wish that was not that way.’ But in terms of the whole, I see myself in the fullness of who I am as opposed to just the external idea of who I am.” Demi Moore spoke about how she is living in the present. The Substance actor added that she couldn’t be any happier. “We are what the future is for women, and I look at having my daughters and I don’t want [it] to ever be in their minds that there is an end,” she told Today. The mum of three added, “To me, this is the most exciting time of my life. It is, I feel, like my children are grown, I have the most independence and autonomy to really redefine where I want to go. I don’t know what that looks like or where it is. But I’m just excited to be living in it.” Moore shares three adult daughters — Rumer, Scout and Tallulah — with her ex-husband Bruce Willis.
