Between 1990 and 1993, Sandra portrayed the genial fortune-teller Mumsie.
In Series 3, she instead played Auntie Sabrina with the explanation given that Mumsie was away.
From 1985, Sandra was married to American actor Brian Greene, with whom she lived in London until they moved to Los Angeles in 2015.

They had no children together, but Marc , one of Brian’s sons from a previous relationship, disclosed the sad news about Sandra.
He said: “Sandra passed away at Cedars Sinai Medical Center on September 1st 2025 of natural causes after about 6 weeks in the hospital for issues relating to extreme weight loss and a few bad falls.
“She was 89 years old. Brian has been moved to an assisted living home near me and is doing as well as a 99-year old man can.
“Sandra was cremated and her ashes are with Brian for now. They will be interred together, probably at Mount Sinai here, but it hasn’t been finalised.”
Sandra was the younger sister of singer, television and radio star Alma Cogan.
Alma was the highest paid British female entertainer of her era but tragically died from cancer in 1966 aged just 34.
At the height of Alma’s fame, she and Sandra lived with their mother Fay at Stafford Court on Kensington High Street in west London.
They threw parties attended by the biggest stars of that time, including Noel Coward, Danny Kaye, Cary Grant, Tommy Steele, and The Beatles.
Paul McCartney composed his classic song Yesterday there, initially called Scrambled Eggs after Fay apparently offered him some for breakfast.
Born in 1936, Sandra trained to be an actress at the Aida Foster Theatre School.
On graduating she adopted the stage surname, an homage to the French film star Leslie Caron, so she wouldn’t just be known as Alma Cogan’s sister.
Her many small screen credits included the UK police series Z Cars and Dixon Of Dock Green, the US series The Odd Couple and Charlie’s Angels.
She also appeared in films such as The Belles Of St.Trinians, The Bliss Of Mrs Blossom, Dracula, and Digby: The Biggest Dog In The World.
Sandra’s final acting role came in a 1995 episode of Agony Again starring her long-term pal Maureen Lipman.
In 1991, Bloomsbury published Sandra’s acclaimed book about her sister, Alma Cogan: The Girl With The Laugh In Her Voice.
