Rangers’ Nasser Djiga

Rangers legend Ally McCoist’s magnanimous reaction to Nasser Djiga’s epic gaffe was instantly shut down by a furious punter inside Ibrox.

The 63-year-old was left scratching his head in the commentary booth as Braga levelled after the £10m Wolves loanee contrived to gift Gabri Martinez at the back post with an ill-timed header.

That made it 1-1 and allowed the Portuguese side to escape Glasgow with an improbable point as they were down to 10 men after Rodrigo Zalazar was sent off for a coming together with Nico Raskin.

And McCoist’s forgiving commentary teed up a raging local to deliver an X-rated slapdown of the error-prone defender which captured the mood of a fanbase on the brink.

The Rangers legend said: “McCoist: “Does the wind play a factor? ooft, I’m trying to help him [Djiga] out, here.”

But a fan could be heard over the commentary, stating: “He’s been s**** aw night!”

Before McCoist, following up in a morose tone, conceded: “That’s terrible. That’s terrible. It really is.”

Djiga was backed by skipper James Tavernier, who said: “I’ve got no complaints with Nasser, everyone makes mistakes.”
