Detroit police are investigating after a baby was discovered on a porch on Thanksgiving Day.

The baby was discovered at 9:55 p.m. on the 15300 block of Cruse Street, off of Fenkell Avenue near Schaefer Highway on Detroit’s west side, police said.

The baby was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, police said. The temperature was just below freezing at the time of the discovery.

The department’s child abuse unit is investigating and the case has been reported to Child Protective Services, police said.
