Certain names are synonymous with certain sporting events and the Mahony family are to Munster club hurling finals what Rafael Nadal is to the French Open or Tiger Woods is to the Masters.
Tomorrow’s decider against Éire Óg of Clare marks Ballygunner’s eighth Munster final in succession as they look to get their hands on the O’Neill Cup for a record sixth time, while Philip and Pauric Mahony will be playing in a ninth final.
