Lisandro Martínez back as Man United beat Crystal Palace in Premier League

The Argentine world champion defender returned to the pitch after recovering from a ligament injury in February, in the Red Devils’ 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace this Sunday for the 13th round of the Premier League.

Lisandro Martínez put behind him an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left leg, suffered on February 2nd coincidentally against the same opponent, and once again wore the Manchester United shirt this Sunday morning.

The defender, who became world champion with Argentina in Qatar 2022, came on in the 37th minute of the second half to replace Luke Shaw with the score at 2-1 in favor of the Manchester side.

In this way, Martínez’s return to the field, after 301 days of professional inactivity, puts him back on the radar of Argentina’s national team coach Lionel Scaloni with a view to the 2026 World Cup.

The player from Entre Ríos took part in the preparations for the last friendly of the year against Angola and even traveled to Luanda to accompany the squad with his club’s permission.

The 13th round of the Premier League continues as follows: West Ham United – Liverpool, Nottingham Forest – Brighton, Aston Villa – Wolves, and Chelsea – Arsenal.
