Characters and cast list announced for magical new animated Christmas film Nollaí

A magical new animated film Nollaí, a landmark co-commission from BBC Northern Ireland, TG4 and S4C, is set to arrive on screens in time for Christmas.

Nollaig – or Nollaí as he is lovingly known – is the story of a young Irish deer on a journey of self-discovery.

This festive special will premiere on Sunday 14 December, with an Irish language version on BBC iPlayer, TG4 and Cúla4, and Welsh language version airing on S4C. An English language version will broadcast on BBC One Northern Ireland and BBC iPlayer the following week.

The cast list is as follows:

Nollaí/Nolig

Newcomer Jude Hartigan voices the character Nollaí in both the Irish and English language versions.

Oslan Snelson voiced Nolig in the Welsh language version.

Sadhbh/Siân

Blaithín McCusker voices the character Sadhbh in both Irish and English language versions. She is best known for playing Nóinín in the TG4 and Cúla 4 television series, Dar le Daideo.

Marged Llwyd voices Siân in the Welsh language version.

Stoca/Siriol

Comedian Mary Flanigan voices the character Stoca in both Irish and English language versions.

Clare Hingott voices Siriol in the Welsh language version.

Daid/Dad

Conor MacNeill voices the character Daid in both Irish and English language versions. The Northern Ireland actor’s credits include the television series Industry, The Sixth Commandment, The Tourist, Derry Girls, the Oscar-winning film Belfast, and Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

Dion Davies voices Dad in the Welsh language version.

Oisín/Osian

Dannan Flynn voices the supporting character Oisín in the Irish and English language versions. He is currently appearing in the TG4 and Cúla 4 series, Dar le Daideo.

Albi Morgan voices Osian in in the Welsh language version.

Giant Deer/Cawr-Garw

Niall Mac Eachmharcaigh voices the Giant Deer in the Irish and English language versions. A veteran of Irish language television, he is best known for his long-running role as John Joe Daly in Ros na Rún on TG4.

Dafydd Emyr voices Cawr-Garw in the Welsh language version.
