CELTIC’S SCOTTISH CUP FRIENDS AND FOES

CELTIC could come up against some old favourites when the Scottish Cup Fourth Round draw is made tonight.
Neil Lennon, Scott Brown and Mark Wilson all negotiated a path for their teams into the ballot following their encounters in the national competition yesterday.
Former two-time Hoops manager Lennon saw his Dunfermline side overcome Queen of the South 2-1, Brown’s Ayr United eased past Turriff United 3-0 and Wilson’s Partick Thistle beat Forfar 2-0 at Station Park.
Shock of the day was St Johnstone’s 2-1 loss to Cove Rangers following extra-time in Perth.
Tonight’s draw will be made live on BBC Scotland’s Sportscene at 7.15pm.
It will also be streamed live on BBC iPlayer.
The fourth round ties are due to be played on the weekend of January 17/18 2026.
Celtic, of course, blew the chance of a ninth treble last season when they lost on penalty-kicks to Aberdeen in the showpiece occasion at Hampden after a disappointing 1-1 draw following extra-time.
The club were also looking for a third successive Scottish Cup after beating Inverness Caley Thistle 3-1 in 2023 and Rangers 1-0 the following year.
