John Metchie III start or sit: Week 13 fantasy football advice

The 2-8 New York Jets host the 4-7 Atlanta Falcons travel this Sunday as 2.5-point home underdogs. Last week they went to Tyrod Taylor at quarterback over Justin Fields. They only ended up scoring 10 points in a loss to the Ravens, but the passing offense was better under Taylor. Of course, that is all relative to just how bad Fields had been. But still, Taylor did help John Metchie to a good fantasy day. Could he do it again this week against the Falcons?

Below, we’ll go over John Metchie III’s outlook in fantasy football for Week 13.

Fantasy Football analysis: Jets, WR, John Metchie III

Metchie has now scored touchdowns in back-to-back games, which were also his first two starts with the Jets. He’s now led the receivers in snaps in both of those games as well. Through these two games he’s caught 9-of-10 targets for 110 yards and two touchdowns against the Patriots and Ravens. He seems to have a good rapport with Taylor, while Adonai Mitchell, the other top target for Taylor, has not played nearly as well as Metchie since getting traded to the Jets.

It’s not easy starting a Jets receiver not named Garrett Wilson, but over the last five games the Falcons have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers. It’s still risky of course, but I like this matchup and the way Taylor and Metchie have played over the last two games.
