Basketball: FC Porto sign point guard Corey Allen

The point guard Corey Allen was confirmed as a reinforcement for FC Porto this Sunday, signing a contract until June. The 27-year-old American, standing at 1.87 meters, hails from Michigan and arrives from Croatia, where he played for Cedevita until a few weeks ago, having also played in Romania and Lithuania.
The new recruit joins the squad led by Fernando Sá following the departure of fellow countryman Jalen Riley and will share the locker room with fellow Americans Wes Washpun, Jhonathan Dunn, Tanner Omlid, Cornelius Hudson, Axel Toupane, and Javian Davis.
Porto cannot count on the injured Omlid and Miguel Queiroz – the latter sidelined until the end of the season – while Cornelius Hudson is preparing for his return to competition.
FC Porto has already been eliminated from the European Cup and has five losses in six games (two in the European Cup, two in the Championship, and one in the League Cup), going through one of the worst phases of the century. After 16 matches, the team has accumulated 10 defeats.
Led by Fernando Sá, Porto occupies the eighth place in the championship, with nine points – the same as Sp. Braga, Esgueira, and Oliveirense (5th) – and will travel to Queluz (4th) on December 6th.
