Lisa Riley’s fiance has joked it’s ‘showbusiness’ as he was asked about her ‘crush’ on an I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here star, which she admitted whilst in the jungle.
The Emmerdale star, who is famed for playing Mandy Dingle in the ITV soap, is among the celebrities taking part in the reality show this year, which is once again being hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly in Australia
During her time Down Under, Lisa, who hails from Bury, had the camp in stitches when she said: “Dec would look after you, Dec would tuck you in at night…Ant would give you…a nice night.”
Rapper Aitch had earlier asked who she preferred, to which she replied: “Ant is way tastier, oh god Ant is juicy.” She added: “You can go to Chanel, you don’t have to buy anything, you can look, I am very, very happily settled in a relationship with my Al, but I can still have a look.”
Now, her partner of 11 years, Al said he was unconcerned by Lisa’s longing for Ant. He said as he touched down at Brisbane Airport ready to support his partner: “There is no business like showbusiness, right? It’s all good. I have no fears of her letting me go.”
And Al said he was very much looking forward to meeting her on the famous jungle bridge when she leaves. He added: “I am very proud of her, it’s a big surprise. I am looking forward to meeting up with her again, hopefully not the first one out. Hopefully at the end.”

Lisa has been with Al since 2014, with the couple becoming engaged in 2018. In the Bush Telegraph, Lisa laughed: ‘I’m a red blooded 49-year-old woman and yes I do think Ant McPartlin is very juicy’.
Speaking before going into the jungle, Lisa spoke glowingly about Al, who is a musician. They became engaged seven years ago although she has previously said they are unlikely to marry. She said how Al has been gently teasing her ahead of her jungle stay.
“The very last thing he said was: ’Just be you.’ But then the other thing he did say, when I was on my own, was, ’good God, you are going to be having a lot of beans,'” she said.
“Think Celia Imrie (in Traitors) and you will put two and two together. People are going to be very privy to my gas. But it is the girl he loves and I love him.”
She also spoke about how she didn’t care that viewers will see her barefaced without make-up, with humidity-frazzled hair. “I love looking raw on TV….look at me in Three Girls or Waterloo Road. I am not a vain actress. And if anything, I am the other way,” she said.
“So when people are like, ’Oh my God, you are not going to have any fake lashes on,’ and my hair is going to look like a frizz bomb, I don’t care. People will see that I am going to look like an absolute minger, and I will embrace that, because that is the truth of it.”
