Celtics Get Bad Injury News On Two Starters Before Cavaliers Game

The Boston Celtics have been shorthanded all season playing without Jayson Tatum, who remains sidelined by an Achilles injury.
However, they’ll be even more depleted for Sunday’s road game against the Cleveland Cavaliers following the release of today’s injury report.
Tatum remains out, but he’ll be joined by Neemias Queta and Derrick White, both of whom have been ruled out for tonight’s game after starting yesterday’s 119-115 road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Celtics are being cautious with Queta, who suffered a left ankle sprain in last Sunday’s win over the Orlando Magic. He missed Wednesday’s victory over the Detroit Pistons before returning on Saturday, contributing a monster double-double in Boston’s loss.
Injury Report for tonight at CLE:
Neemias Queta (left ankle sprain injury management) – OUT
Jayson Tatum (right Achilles repair) – OUT
Derrick White (right calf contusion) – OUT

White, who’s dealing with a right calf contusion, will miss his first game of the season for the Celtics. He scored 16 points in 39 minutes on Saturday, so Joe Mazzulla is likely just giving him a breather.

Without two of its starters on the second half of a back-to-back, Boston will be hard-pressed to beat the Cavaliers, who are 12-8 this season and 8-3 at home. Cleveland is coming off back-to-back road losses against the Toronto Raptors and Atlanta Hawks and will be without several key players as well, including Jarrett Allen.
With Queta and White sidelined, the Celtics will need to get even more production from Jaylen Brown, Payton Pritchard, Josh Minott, Luka Garza and Anfernee Simons if they want to beat the Cavaliers for the second time this season and end November with a win.
