Sports Personality Pat McAfee and Wife Samantha Expecting Baby No. 2 After Lengthy IVF Journey

Larger-than-life sports personality Pat McAfee and his wife, Samantha McAfee, are expanding their brood.

“The path that led us here was filled with needles, hormones, countless appointments, and more emotion than we ever knew two hearts could hold,” Samantha wrote via Instagram on Saturday, November 29, announcing that the couple are expecting baby No. 2.

“IVF pushed my body to its limits and stretched our spirits in ways we never expected,” she continued in the caption, alongside ultrasound photos and a picture of a cake, revealing that the pair are expecting a boy. “It was hope and heartbreak, faith and fear — all tangled together as we trusted science and prayed for another miracle.”

She added, “And now, with humbled hearts and overwhelming gratitude, we are overjoyed to share that we are expecting a baby boy, arriving June 2026. To every woman and couple still in the thick of this journey: you are not alone. I hope our news doesn’t cause you pain, but instead offers a spark of hope. Hope that your story isn’t over. Hope that the impossible can become possible.

Samantha concluded her celebratory message by reminding those trying to conceive that “one day, this storm will pass.”

“And when it does, may your rainbow find you,” she added.

Pat and Samantha married in 2020 after a one-year engagement and four years of dating.

“He surprised me by having the pilot land at the bae of the biggest waterfall I have personally ever seen,” Samatha wrote via Instagram of the proposal, which took place in Hawaii. “As we were taking a cute photo at the waterfall it was at that moment my boyfriend became my fiancé.”

In May 2023, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Mackenzie. In addition to being an analyst for ESPN sports, the former Indianapolis Colts kicker famously provides commentary for various WWE events — even entering into the ring from time to time himself.

Samantha, for her part, is the founder and CEO of Fur The Brand, a non-profit organization that aims to raise awareness for canine cancer while providing financial assistance for families struggling to afford necessary treatment for their four-legged friends.

Amid their many career obligations, Samantha hopes that her daughter — and now, future son — will learn valuable lessons from their parents’ work ethic.

“He works all the time, even the hours you’re suppose to be resting,” Samantha captioned an Instagram post featuring a photo of Pat prior to their daughter’s birth. “His brain is always thinking of how to make the show better [The Pat McAfee Show], how to make his team better, how to be a better human, friend, husband and soon to be father”

She continued at the time, “I can only hope our baby girl has his work ethic and drive. I love this man so much. I gain more respect for his grind, brain and passion every year.”

After announcing the pair are expecting their second baby, many NFL stars and commentators took to the comments section to share their well-wishes — including Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who is preparing for the next chapter of life with his fiancée, Taylor Swift.

“Let’s goooo!! Congratulations!!!’ Kelce wrote. Former NFL defensive end J.J. Watt, former safety Ryan Clark and NFL insider Adam Schefter also sent their congratulations to the soon-to-be parents of two.
