Last week’s all-new episode of IT: Welcome to Derry finally unveiled the full horror that is Pennywise the Clown (Bill Skarsgård). Not only that, but the HBO hit also revealed that Madeline Stowe‘s character, Ingrid, is more than just a nice nurse who works at Juniper Hill. She’s also the younger version of Mrs. Kersh, the daughter of the original Pennywise the Clown, and an iconic horror in her own right in the Stephen King pantheon.
IT: Welcome to Derry Episode 5 also featured some atmospheric connections to other Stephen King tales. Dick Hallorann (Chris Chalk) was forced to open his “lockbox,” a concept introduced in The Shining sequel, Doctor Sleep. And Hank Grogan (Stephen Rider) was supposed to wind up at Shawshank during Red and Andy’s heyday, but managed to escape this fate thanks to a bus crash.
