A family in New Jersey faced an unimaginable start to their Thanksgiving meal.
Their massive feast came crashing down before their eyes in an unexpected moment that was caught on camera.

The backstory:
Kat Hovnanian, who filmed the video, told Storyful, a social media video licensing agency, that the feast was made for their Armenian family of about 150 people.
The family was gathered and filming a pre-Thanksgiving speech by one of the younger cousins when the shocking moment happened.

Video perspective:
The cousin finishes her speech, and the family claps and is telling her, “Bravo!” when the table suddenly collapses forward.
Dishes can be heard clattering and several gasps and screams can be heard as all the plates and decorations slide to the ground. Then the room goes silent and the video cuts off.

What they’re saying:
Hovnanian said their aunt, who spent weeks preparing and cooking, “was an absolute champ about it.”
“We picked whatever we could off the floor – there was enough but most of it was destroyed,” Hovnanian added.
The video was liked more than 80,000 times on Instagram by the next day.
“This is legitimately sitcom material,” one person wrote in comments under the video.
“Happy Thanksgiving to the ground,” another person joked.
“This would have won on America’s Funniest Home Videos back in 2010,” another person said.
