Did Holly And Colin’s ‘Big Brother’ Romance Survive Eviction?

THE RUNDOWN
- Holly Young was evicted from the Big Brother Australia house on November 30.
- During her time in the house, the controversial contestant had a romance with MMA fighter Colin Ridley, 21.
- Fans and contestants called their age-gap romance fake, but Young’s comments during her exit hinted at a future for the couple.
On Sunday night, we said goodbye to one of Big Brother‘s most talked-about contestants: Holly Young. Holly Young’s Big Brother eviction left viewers wondering — what will happen to her romance with Colin?
Holly Young, 31, and Colin Ridley, 21, struck up a flirtation early in the season that quickly became one of the show’s central storylines. On reality TV, rule one for dodging early eviction is to strike up a “faux mance”; it gives you a plotline for showrunners to follow and a partner in crime. Many viewers (and housemates) guessed the romance was strategic, at least on Holly’s part. Unfortunately, Colin appeared genuinely besotted.
Despite being one of the more divisive personalities in the house, Holly’s steamy chemistry with the MMA fighter won airtime and intrigue — and possibly helped her through to the finals. But with her departure, fans will be asking: Are Holly and Colin still together?
The Holly And Colin Fake Relationship Rumours
Their relationship kicked off with a steamy makeout session that raised eyebrows across the house. It wasn’t long before Holly’s motives were questioned. Upon his eviction, housemate Michael called it out directly: “Olly, well done for your fake relationship with Colin. We all know that the relationship will not last until halfway down the eviction runway.”
Colin, meanwhile, confided his insecurities in the Big Brother diary room. “I can’t even comprehend why she’d like me… If something’s too good to be true, it usually is, right?” he said. “If I saw her out on the street and tried to wave at her, she wouldn’t even look at me.” Holly has enjoyed an international modelling career and a string of high profile romances, most recently with Luxe Listings star Gavin Rubinstein.
It didn’t help that Holly repeatedly called him by the wrong name — not once, but several times. When she mistakenly called him “Connor,” Colin responded, “Learning my name would be a real cool first step.” Ouch.
Are Holly And Colin From Big Brother Still Together?
In one of their final on-screen moments together, Colin asked Holly if she saw a future for them outside the house. Her response was vague: “I can’t say to you I can predict the future, but what I can promise you is that I would give you the exact same chance that I would give anybody who was trying to date me… If there’s anybody I think is more deserving than that that I’ve met in the last 12 months, it’s you.” Nice sentiment, but hardly the declaration of love we think Colin was looking for.
So, are they still together? We won’t know for sure until Colin leaves the Big Brother house. But in her exit interview with Mel Tracina, Holly hinted that the story might not be over just yet. She revealed that she’d left Colin a note written in lipstick before leaving, a major gesture, given that housemates aren’t allowed to write messages.
“There was something very, very, very special that came out of the Big Brother house,” she said. “I wish [Colin] all the very best.”
It sounds like a reconnection isn’t totally off the cards.
