Beloved pop star rushed to ER after sudden medical emergency

Jojo Siwa was rushed to the hospital Friday morning after experiencing severe abdominal pain, just hours before she was scheduled to appear at the Mall of America, Parade reports.

The 22-year-old dancer and pop star revealed in a TikTok video posted Friday that a ruptured ovarian cyst caused the medical emergency.

Siwa told fans she had been experiencing stomach pain for several days while dancing and walking, initially dismissing it as cramps.

“So long story short, every time that I’ve been dancing for the last couple of days or even just like walking like anything, my stomach would just really, really hurt,” she said in the video.

The pain escalated Friday morning when she lay down and felt unable to breathe, she added. When a warm bath made the discomfort “100 times worse” and she felt faint, her mother called 911.

An ultrasound at the hospital revealed the problem.

“One of my ovaries had a cyst on it that burst and was bleeding into my stomach,” Siwa explained. She described the pain from the shifting blood as both “excruciating” and “brutal.”

Doctors informed her the bleeding should resolve without intervention. Siwa was discharged within two hours and proceeded to her Mall of America appearance with help from pain medication, though she acknowledged she was not yet at “100%.”

She noted that she has a follow-up appointment scheduled for next week and must return to the hospital immediately “if I vomit or if I have that excruciating pain burst again.”

Siwa thanked hospital staff and fans before closing her video with the message: “We’re going to keep it pushing.”
