Here’s how much snow fell in Indianapolis, Northern Indiana

How drivers can prepare for bad winter weather

This video offers tips from the Indianapolis Department of Transportation to help drivers navigate bad winter weather conditions.

The winter storm that came through Indiana on Nov. 29 mostly brought snow totals on the low side of predictions, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Indianapolis clocked in at 1.7 inches of accumulation during its second snowfall of the season, with areas of the state north of the city posting much higher totals.

Here are the amounts reported to the National Weather Service:

Indianapolis area snow totals

  • Indianapolis International Airport: 1.7 inches
  • Brownsburg: 2.1 inches
  • Eagle Creek Reservoir: 3.1 inches
  • Greenwood: 1.6 inches
  • Zionsville: 1.5 inches
  • Fishers: 3 inches

Northern and Central Indiana snow totals

  • West Lafayette: 6.9 inches
  • West Point: 6.2 inches
  • Purdue University: 7.8 inches
  • Muncie: 4 inches
  • Terre Haute: 3.7 inches
  • Frankfort: 4.7 inches
  • Kokomo: 6.5 inches
  • Burlington: 7 inches
  • South Bend: 9 inches
  • Elkhart: 9.8 inches

Southern Indiana snow totals

  • Bloomington: 1.7 inches
  • Columbus: 1 inch
  • Elnora: 0.6 inches
