The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has issued a recall for a Christmas chocolate sold at Aldi stores.
The Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks, shaped like the popular Christmas ornament, is being recalled due to an undeclared allergen. The chocolates may contain peanuts.
Peanuts are not declared on the list of ingredients. This makes the impacted batches unsafe for consumers with a peanut allergy or intolerance.
Because of this, consumers with relevant allergies should not eat the implicated product. The affected product is being recalled from Aldi stores.
Aldi said: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks because it may contain peanuts. Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
