Megan Thee Stallion has scored a win in her defamation case against a blogger, whom she sued in 2024 for making false claims accusing her of lying about being shot by Tory Lanez.

A Florida jury on Dec. 1 found Milagro Cooper, also known as Milagro Gramz, liable for defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress and promotion of an altered sexual depiction against the rapper, born Megan Pete.

The jury awarded the “Hot Girl Summer” artist $75,000 in damages, including $15,000 for defamation. However, U.S. District Court Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga lowered the total damages to $59,000, according to NBC News. After the jury determined Cooper should be treated as a media defendant, the judge said the defamation judgment would not be included in her final order, according to NBC Miami.

USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for Cooper and Pete for comment.

Pete first sued Cooper in Florida’s Southern District Court in October 2024, accusing the YouTuber of cyberstalking, emotional distress and promoting an “altered sexual depiction.”

The lawsuit outlined how Cooper allegedly deployed a “years-long campaign of harassment” on behalf of Lanez, who was convicted of shooting Pete in 2020. Cooper spread false conspiracies about the shooting, calling into question whether Lanez really shot Pete, and shared “a deepfake pornographic video of Ms. Pete” on social media, the suit alleged.

“For years, Defendant Cooper acted, and continues to act, on behalf of Daystar Peterson (also known as Tory Lanez) as an online rumor mill churning out falsehoods about Ms. Pete to her tens of thousands of social media followers,” the suit said, also alleging that Cooper’s “unlawful promotion of an altered sexual depiction” caused Pete “severe emotional distress and reputational harm.”

“Ms. Pete — a victim of violent crime and champion of women’s rights to her millions of fans worldwide — will no longer stand for Defendant’s campaign of harassment,” the filing stated.

Cooper’s defense previously said in a statement to USA TODAY that the suit makes “a lot of false claims against” the blogger’s “professional conduct in an attempt to stop her from reporting on the” Lanez case, adding that this amounted to an attempt to “silence” her.
