ITV Corriedale reveals ‘explosive’ crash plot as three more stars confirmed
Corriedale has revealed an “explosive” crash plot as three more stars have been confirmed.
It was announced back in May that Emmerdale and Coronation Street would be merging for a special one-off episode, with characters from both Weatherfield and the Dales set to come together in an unprecedented event.
The productions for each soap have joined forces for an “ambitious stunt” which will have “everlasting consequences for everyone involved”.
Aaron Dingle actor Danny Miller and Lisa Swain star Vicky Myers were announced as the first cast members – from Emmerdale and Corrie respectively – who have started filming on the crossover, with three more stars being confirmed on Monday (December 1).

ITV has released a dramatic teaser trailer giving viewers an explosive preview of the groundbreaking crossover episode.
For the first time, it’s been revealed that a multi vehicle pile up is at the centre of the drama that sees the worlds of Corrie and Emmerdale collide for one night only.
The chilling trailer shows the aftermath of the crash on a dark and stormy country road near the village of Hotten. Desperate voices call for help in the darkness as emergency services arrive.

Fans of both soaps will recognise them as David Platt, Tracy Barlow, Liam Cavanagh and Aaron Dingle. Corrie actors Jack P Shepherd and Kate Ford, as well as Emmerdale’s Jonny McPherson join Danny and Vicky in the episode’s cast.
The logline teases: “But what has brought the residents of Weatherfield across the Pennines to Yorkshire, and how have the characters from the two soaps ended up in a catastrophic collision?”
The special episode, which will air in early January 2026, is a celebration of the soap genre and will launch ITV’s new soap power hour scheduling pattern for Corrie and Emmerdale.

As well as unveiling three new crossover stars, today’s promo has also unveiled the iconic Corriedale logo for the first time.
“Corriedale is just the start of the drama as the aftermath of the crash gives rise to fear, murderous intent, death, destruction, closely-guarded secrets, and lies,” the synopsis concludes.
“Life in Emmerdale and Weatherfield will never be the same again!”

Iain Macleod, ITV Executive Producer for Continuing Drama, previously said in a statement: “It’s beyond exciting that filming is under way on Corriedale. There is a massive buzz around both the Leeds and Manchester sites and the images coming out of the shoot are utterly spectacular.
“That’s before we’ve even got to all the brilliant transpennine interactions between characters from the different shows! As a soap fan myself, I think my head is going to explode when the episode airs next year. It will be mind-blowing, historical and unmissable.”
Corrie and Emmerdale have shared several crossover easter eggs in recent episodes, including John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) wanted poster in Weatherfield police station and Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) referencing a bridezilla in Manchester, which likely refers to Debbie Webster (Sue Devaney).
Corriedale will air on ITV1 and ITVX in early January 2026
