Sir Alex Ferguson is, arguably, one of the best Manchester United managers of all-time having won 13 Premier League titles, two UEFA Champions Leagues and other titles in his reign as manager of United.
Furthermore, the retired manager, who was spotted at an League One clash between Cardiff City and Peterborough United supporting Darren Ferguson, has continued to support Manchester United since his retirement and regularly attends games where possible.
Meanwhile, away from attending football games, the former United boss has opened up on his work with dementia whilst also being joined by Pep Guardiola in the 1000 games club.
As well as this, Ferguson recently broke his silence on Ruben Amorim praising the impact of three summer signings.
Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson has also hinting that United are re-discovering elements of their old identity.
But, away from Old Trafford, Ferguson’s involvement in football is still clear.
One of the ways he has continued his involvement is through local Scottish side Benburb who were given a cash injection by the former Manchester United boss earlier this year.
Now, the true reward of this investment has been revealed with Benburb’s Scottish Cup run coming to its climax.
With Ferguson’s investment before their second round game against Wick Academy, the side were able to stay in a hotel helping them in their preparation for the game.
After staying in the hotel, the side won on penalties taking them through to the third round for the first time in their history.
However, following the progression to the third round, Benburb were drawn against Montrose and ended up losing 3-0 on Saturday bringing an end to their dreams of cup success.
But, even with the side being knocked out, Sir Alex Ferguson investing money into the team’s cup preparations aided them in their second round game and helped them to make history on the biggest stage.
