Could Josh McDaniels Be Auditioning For Giants’ HC Job On Monday?

The Patriots will face off against the Giants in a “Monday Night Football” showdown, and for New England’s offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, this game could serve as a chance to showcase his skills for the head coaching position in New York.

New York parted ways with head coach Brian Daboll on Nov. 10, prompting a search for his replacement in the offseason. McDaniels may be a viable candidate for the Giants, as he could fulfill all the criteria they are seeking in a new head coach.

McDaniels is having an impressive season developing second-year quarterback Drake Maye into one of the NFL’s top players.

Meanwhile, the Giants have a promising rookie quarterback in Jaxson Dart. They could see the potential in what McDaniels is achieving with Maye and hope to replicate that success with Dart.

However, one factor that could hinder McDaniels in securing the Giants’ head coaching job is his prior experience as a head coach with the Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders. Both teams dismissed him before he could complete his second full season.

McDaniels’ shortcomings as a head coach might be behind him. If the Giants see a stellar performance from Maye, they may believe that McDaniels is the right person to transform Dart and the rest of New York into a legitimate contender. There’s a chance that McDaniels could showcase his skills on Monday and possibly be on the Giants’ radar in the winter.
