Devin Booker Sends Strong Message About Lakers Duo Luka Dončić, Austin Reaves’ Domination

The Los Angeles Lakers’ Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves have proven to be one of the best duos in the NBA today. While many expected that LeBron James would be Dončić’s dynamic duo, it turns out that the “King” is ready to pass the torch to the younger talent.
Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker took notice of Dončić and Reaves’ dominance. He shared his thoughts on the Lakers duo’s success.
Devin Booker Showers Praise on Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves
After the Lakers’ 133-121 win against the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, Dončić and Reaves have officially become the best duo in the NBA. Dončić, who’s averaging 35.1 points per game, and Reaves, who’s averaging 28.8 points, combined for a total of 63.9 points per game.
The Lakers duo is scoring 10 points higher compared to the second-best duo in the league, the Denver Nuggets’ Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray.
Given the magnitude of their performances, the Lakers are now the team to beat, despite currently holding second place in the Western Conference. Los Angeles is set to face off against the Phoenix Suns on Monday, and Booker is aware of the challenges he needs to face when dealing with the Lakers.
“It starts with Luka (Dončić) and Austin (Reaves) playing at extreme levels,” Booker said. “They’re scoring efficiently, and they’re getting to the free throw line a lot. They’re guarding very well also. They got it rolling right now.”
Booker then commented on James taking a backseat behind the Dončić and Reaves duo.
“That’s the beauty of Bron’s game,” Booker continued. “He can score the ball. He can also be a playmaker. You can see him easing his way back in, making a lot of plays for a lot of people. Throwing one of the best players to ever play back into the lineup can never be a downfall.”

Heading into Monday’s game against the Suns, the Lakers are coming in with the best starting five in the league. As of their victory on Sunday, Los Angeles’ starting five is scoring 95.2 points per game.
However, when it comes to the Lakers’ bench, they’re averaging the league’s worst points per game with 23.7. Having that in mind, these are factors that the Suns can take advantage of in their showdown.
But it’s worth noting that Los Angeles is on a seven-game winning streak, while Phoenix is on a two-game losing streak. With that said, the Lakers have all the momentum to win Monday’s game.
