“Heads Gotta Start Rolling Soon”: Fans Predict Mayhem After Ty Lue Benches Kawhi Leonard, James Harden Following Clippers’ Epic Capitulation

NBA fans online are predicting bad things for the LA Clippers after coach Ty Lue benched Kawhi Leonard and James Harden on Monday. The Clippers were getting blown out by the Miami Heat after the first two quarters, so Lue decided to make a tough decision.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Joey Linn, Lue pulled out Leonard, Harden and his starting five with 10:34 left in the third period. The Clippers were already down 29 points on the road, and their effort was a lost cause. It wasn’t the best performance from the already 5-15 team.

Thanks for the submission!

Harden finished with 11 points, two rebounds, three assists and five turnovers in 20 minutes. Leonard, on the other hand, was inserted back into the game with less than three minutes left in the third quarter. He put up 36 points, seven rebounds and three steals, but the Clippers still got easily beaten, 140-123.

Some fans online are already predicting chaos for the LA Clippers after another lackluster result. The Clippers had high expectations in the offseason, but they are crashing out early in just December. They don’t have their first-round pick next year, so tanking isn’t an option, especially with the OKC Thunder owning it.

Nevertheless, here are some of the best reactions on X, formerly known as Twitter.

Cant imagine the vibes in that locker room rn lmao heads gotta start rolling soon

Ty lue knows a firing is coming. Might as well go out in flames.

Fish lips Lue is nothing more than a clown 🤡

FIRE EVERYONE TRADE EVERYONE

Single worst choice of my life was becoming a fan of this team

When you have incompetent coach and GM- this is exactly what you get. Very simple to understand.

Now at 5-16, the LA Clippers have the second-worst record in the Western Conference. It will be interesting to see if owner Steve Ballmer makes some changes heading into 2026. Kawhi Leonard has been relatively healthy, and his recent performances could increase his value.

The LA Clippers’ best assets on the team are Kawhi Leonard, Ivica Zubac and James Harden. Due to his injury history, Leonard’s value won’t be as high as what the Clippers want it to be. Zubac could bring back some assets, while Harden’s age and contract certainly affect his value.

According to Danny Green, the Clippers need to start rebuilding and start over, with a Leonard trade being a priority.

“They got to they got to blow everything to try to get something back,” Green said on his ‘No Fouls Given’ podcast with Paul Pierce and Big Wos. “I mean, at this point right now, you’re not getting anybody in the building anyway. Give a damn who’s on the squad. They are losing every game, it looks like.”

Paul Pierce, on the other hand, wants the Clippers to retain Leonard for the sake of the fanbase.
