Consumers warned to discard recalled contaminated Prairie Farms milk

WASHINGTON (TNND) — The Food and Drug Administration announced that milk produced by Prairie Farms was recalled due to contamination concerns. Prairie Farms is recalling certain gallons of fat-free milk after discovering they may contain food-grade cleaning agents.
Consuming the contaminated milk may cause illness. The milk, which is produced at the company’s Dubuque, Iowa, facility, was sold at Woodman’s stores in Illinois and Wisconsin. Affected products have an expiration date of December 8.
The company reported that it was alerted to a potential quality issue earlier in the week, with over 300 gallons of the contaminated milk having been sold before the problem was identified. Consumers are advised to discard the affected milk or return the bottle to the store.
