I’m A Celebrity fans were left worried about presenter Ant McPartlin, who seemed poorly during Sunday night’s ITV programme (November 30).

As the latest jungle adventure kicked off, Ant and presenting partner Declan Donnelly revealed there’s just one week remaining before a campmate claims the crown as monarch of the wilderness.

Broadcasting live from their Australian jungle studio, Dec announced: “Welcome to Australia, where after two weeks, people are starting to get on each other’s nerves.”

Ant interjected: “No, they are not,” prompting Dec to respond: “Yes, they are, you’re making a scene. We’ll talk about this later,” before both hosts dissolved into giggles.

Shortly afterwards, Ant continued: “But we start tonight with new leaders Shona and Lisa, who, after replacing Aitch and Ginge, were enjoying all of the luxuries that come with true power.”

Dec wryly commented: “There is nothing more luxurious than an unmade bed and a smelly treehouse.”

Yet Ant’s voice sounded noticeably “husky”, sparking concern amongst viewers that he might be feeling under the weather during the live Australian broadcast, reports the Express.

Flocking to X, one worried fan posted: “Oh dear, Ant doesn’t sound very well at all. #ImACeleb”, whilst another chimed in: “Aww has Ant got a sore throat?”

A third viewer insisted: “Someone get Ant a lemsip #ImACeleb”, whilst another suggested: “Ant I reckon you need some halls soothers for that throat of yours @antanddec #ImACeleb.”

Another worried viewer declared: “Ant is slowly dying tonight #ImACeleb”. Whilst another enquired: “Oh no, what’s up with Ant the voice! @antanddec #ImACeleb.”

“Poor Ant #ImACeleb,” posted another.

It marked Shona McGarty’s and Lisa Riley’s first morning serving as camp leader and deputy, with both awakening refreshed after an excellent night’s rest in the luxury of the treehouse.

Nevertheless, Lisa was shortly escorted from camp as the moment had arrived for her inaugural solo Bushtucker trial, following the public vote. Upon reaching the Bushtucker trial clearing, she greeted Ant & Dec with: “Hello, you delicious duo!”

With eleven minutes to secure eleven stars and Lisa positioned in the mine, the klaxon blared. As she crawled into the opening section, rats joined her company whilst she shrieked and fumbled around for a star, initially grabbing a fake diamond and also a camera (much to Ant & Dec’s delight) before returning both items.

Lisa made her way back to camp, thrilled to deliver the positive news to her fellow celebrities, as the camp celebrated her achievement of securing eight out of eleven stars.

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here broadcasts weekdays at 9pm on ITV and ITVX.
