Earl Eugene “Jake” Dowler, 72, of Parkersburg, WV died Saturday November 29, 2025 at his residence. He was born in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Harley Edyrl and Alice Evelyn (Kimble) Dowler.
He worked at Mountain State Steel for seventeen years before retiring from Parkersburg Utility Board and was a faithful servant at Landmark Baptist Church. He was a United States Marine veteran and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years Sharon Lynn (Layner) Dowler; two daughters Angela and Mandy Dowler; special daughter Nichol Dillon; three grandsons Ryan Hamrick, Dylan Dowler, and Trenton Dowler; three granddaughters Tiffani Davis, Hailee Miller, and Alivia Dowler; several great grandchildren; brother William Dowler (Ruby); sister Wilda Edman (Rick); and special friend Tim Cross.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Douglas Dowler.
Services will be Tuesday 11:00 AM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Pastor Michael Lamb officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be Monday 5-8 PM.
