Liam Gallagher teases fans again as he says something ‘big’ is coming

It comes after a new mural was also spotted in Manchester’s Northern Quarter

Another day, another Liam Gallagher tweet sending the internet into overdrive. The dust has hardly settled on the world tour, but the frontman is getting fans excited again, teasing another big announcement on the social media platform.

Oasis wrapped on their world tour last weekend after five months of touring and 41 shows. After kicking things off in Cardiff at the start of July, the band toured the UK and Ireland, stopping off in Cardiff, Manchester London, Edinburgh and Dublin.

The band then headed to Australia, Japan, South Korea, North and South America, and ended proceedings with two nights in Sao Paolo, Brazil. As the tour drew to a close, rumours swirled about the possibility of more dates who fans sharing their theories on when they could announce more shows including European dates.

Someone known to fuel those rumours is Liam Gallagher, who has consistently been responding to tweets on X about the tour, including he desire to go back out on tour. Now, for the first time in over a week, the rocker has tweeted: “BIG ANNOUNCEMENT IMMINENT.”

As well as fans resharing and commenting on the update, Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs, Oasis’ rhythm guitarist responded, writing: “Boneheads a geezer.” He also followed it up tweeting: “Hurry up @liamgallagher, I’m going out.”

The post was also shared widely including on the Oasis subreddit, with one fan quipping: “I hope it’s the documentary but it’s probably just Liam joking again.”

Rumours are still circulating that the band could announce more dates. Many are hoping that a series of European shows will take place next year to mark 30 years since they played Maine Road in Manchester and Knebworth in Hertfordshire.

Others have suggested the tweets could be linked to Spotify Unwrapped, or a new album. There’s also a lot of noise about a documentary.

Yesterday, eagle-eyed fans spotted what looks like a new mural of the stars, with Liam Gallagher’s face painted onto the side of a Northern Quarter building. Pictures shared on social media showed a large mural being painted on the side of a building on Salmon Street.

Last night, the wall was completely covered with a black cover, and all that remains is the blue crane at the bottom of the wall, though other images shared seem to show the numbers ‘2026’ or ‘2025’ in yellow fluorescent paint.
