‘Delusional’ Abbie roasted for career move

Abbie Chatfield has divided the internet after she revealed that she’s embarking on a career as an artist.

The 30-year-old showed off a series of her latest artworks in an Instagram post on Monday.

Telling fans that she had taken up art of late to ease her problems with anxiety, Chatfield showed off her latest works and opened up a new Instagram page that’s already attracted thousands of followers.

While some have already requested to buy her work, reaction from others has been rather brutal.

“I’ve seen better finger painting from five-year-olds,” remarked one fan, with another replying: “My five-year-old is a better artist!”

“This is pure delusion, have you seen a Picasso or a Rembrandt painting?” questioned another.

“95 per cent of four-year-olds produce better art than this,” ranted one fan, while another compared Chatfield to Meghan Markle.

“Starting to look and sound like Meghan Markle with that dreadful piece of rubbish she calls art,” they wrote.

Despite the barrage of negative remarks, some did appear to appreciate Chatfield’s efforts.

“Oh my god, I would totally buy your art!” remarked one fan, while another replied: “Is there anything you can’t do queen!?”

Chatfield’s boyfriend, Adam Hyde, then chimed in, threatening that Chatfield’s foray into painting was “just the beginning”.

It comes after Hyde won the Best Video award for his viral hit Dancing2 at the ARIA Awards, and dedicated the win to his girlfriend, who was in the audience filming with her phone like a proud stage mum.

“I really want to thank Abbie, my beautiful Abbie, because without her, this song would not exist at all.” he said on stage.

Then he finished his speech with an uncensored send-off: “To every person who supports Australian music, “you’re a sick c**t.” Uh… thanks!

Chatfield then shared her own feelings during a roving chat with host Concetta Caristo during the ceremony.

“I was almost crying, and all of his team as well was independent and it’s so important to support independent artists,” Chatfield told Caristo.

“It’s amazing for an independent artist to win an ARIA, particularly a music video that takes so much crew and so many hours and so much effort.

“So it’s not just for Adam, it’s also for the rest of the crew.”
