‘Something has to change at Port Vale’ – Hall

The Valiants limited the promotion-chasing Imps’ goal threat and the team has now conceded just two goals in their past three league matches.

But it is at the other end where ultimately points are being dropped.

They produced just one attempt on target at the LNER Stadium and last found the net in the league on 11 October when Devante Cole’s strike earned a 1-1 draw at AFC Wimbledon.

“The performance wasn’t too far away, again, you could argue, just missing a goal, but we can’t keep saying that,” Hall added.

“Something has to change, we have to change.

“We have to produce something, whether that’s a cross, a clean strike on the ball, and that’s all of us, not just the attackers. It’s corners and set-pieces.

“But we’ve got to take ownership now and really try to hammer home the importance of having to get that goal.”

Vale host Barnsley in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday and Bristol Rovers in the FA Cup on Saturday before a testing return to league action at home to third-placed Bradford on 9 December.
