Investec Boosts Channel Islands Asset Finance Team with Senior Appointment

Investec has appointed FJ Eigelaar as Managing Director of Investec Asset Finance (Channel Islands) Limited (IAFCI) and as a member of the IAFCI Board, reinforcing the bank’s asset finance offering across Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man.
IAFCI has operated in the Crown Dependencies since 2017, providing tailored financing solutions to privately owned businesses. Its services cover everything from insurance premium funding and vehicle finance to IT infrastructure, business refits, essential equipment, and even aviation and marine assets. The team aims to help companies manage cash flow, reduce upfront costs, and invest confidently in growth.
FJ Eigelaar, who has been with Investec since 2008 and previously headed Client Group Funding, said: “Investec plays an important role in supporting individuals and businesses across the islands. I look forward to working with colleagues, clients, and partners to continue delivering solutions that help the local community thrive.”
Investec has operated in the Channel Islands for more than 25 years, recently reopening its refurbished Guernsey office and expanding its Jersey office. The bank offers a full range of banking, lending, and specialist finance services, supported by its long-term strategic partnership with Rathbones for wealth management.
Jane Niles, CEO of Investec Bank (Channel Islands) Limited, added: “FJ’s appointment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing specialist finance solutions and growing our capabilities across the Crown Dependencies.”
Beyond banking, Investec actively supports local community, cultural, and environmental initiatives, including the Guernsey Mind 10km Fun Run, the Food for Families Project, Jersey Mencap, and the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust.
