  • Some users are sharing their Spotify stats via Receiptify as they wait for their Spotify Wrapped 2025 to release.
  • Inspired by @albumreceipts on Instagram, Receiptify allows users to share receipts of their most-played songs, artists and genres from the past month, six months or all time.
  • Music fans won’t have long to wait to share their listening stats, though. Spotify Wrapped 2025 is likely to launch of Wednesday, Dec. 3.

Statistics was, and probably still is, a word that dripped with dread when uttered throughout high school halls. But like most things, when presented in just the right way, stats can be pretty interesting — maybe even fun.

Love it or hate it, Spotify Wrapped is one of the best real-world examples of taking what could have easily been disregarded as boring stats and turning them into social media candy. It’s become so popular that it literally dominates the end of the year for about a week when it’s released.

The demand for sharing listening stats has become so strong that it’s launched Spotify Wrapped-likes, including the increasingly popular Receiptify web app.

Inspired by an Instagram account going by the handle @albumreceipts, which transcribes albums to receipts in a fun visual, Receiptify takes the concept and applies it to users.

Users can use their Spotify or Last.fm accounts to log into the web app. Once they agree to share their listening stats, Receiptify will automatically generate a “receipt” of their top tracks from the past month.

Here’s how you can get your Spotify Wrapped fix while you wait for the 2025 iteration to release.

What is Spotify Wrapped?

Launched in 2016, Spotify Wrapped is Spotify’s annual year-in-review feature. It allows users to reflect on their musical journey throughout the year via sharable social media graphics. These graphics feature everything from a user’s most-listened-to tracks to their favorite genres and artists.

When does Spotify Wrapped 2025 release?

Determining when Spotify Wrapped will release is also a bit of a guess, but we can use some historical clues to give us an idea of when to expect it.

Over the past four years, Spotify Wrapped has been released on the first Wednesday of the week December starts, which has sometimes dipped into the end of November. Assuming Spotify continues on this schedule, users could see Spotify Wrapped 2025 release on Wednesday, Dec. 3.

There is some precedence where Spotify Wrapped has been released earlier and later in the week. So for the safest bet, start looking for your Spotify Wrapped on Tuesday, Dec. 2, until Thursday, Dec. 4.

  • 2016: Tuesday, Dec. 6
  • 2017: Wednesday, Dec. 6
  • 2018: Thursday, Dec. 6
  • 2019: Thursday, Dec. 5
  • 2020: Tuesday, Dec. 1
  • 2021: Wednesday, Dec. 1
  • 2022: Wednesday, Nov. 30
  • 2023: Wednesday, Nov. 29
  • 2024: Wednesday, Dec. 4

What is Receiptify?

Receiptify is a web app created by software engineer Michelle Liu. It allows users to share their Spotify and Last.fm listening stats with the app that generates a sharable image featuring stats like their top tracks, artists, genres, albums and their general listening stats. It also allows users to create their own custom images.

By default, the web app will display 10 of the user’s stats from the past month, but it can be tweaked to look back as far as last year and include up to 50 stats.

The image, which looks like a shopping receipt, can be downloaded and shared on social media or it can be saved as a playlist.

Is it safe to share my data with Receiptify?

Receiptify is an open-source web app, meaning anyone can take a direct peek inside the source code and make their own changes. The Spotify and Last.fm login is handled through each app’s respective API. Receiptify says that it does not store user data and does not share it with any third parties. The data is solely used for displaying the receipt.
