Manchester-born rapper Aitch might currently be competing to become King of I’m a Celebrity, but his former college gave an insight into his life before fame.
I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Aitch has quickly become a fan favourite during his time Down Under, particularly due to his friendship with Salford-born Angry Ginge.
Hailing from Moston, North Manchester, Aitch has quickly become familiar with success within his industry, including winning a Brit Award for Best Hip-Hop/Grime act in 2023 and two Mobo Awards in 2022 – Best Song for hit track Baby with Ashanti in 2022 and Best Album for Close To Home.
Before that, he won the Best Newcomer Mobo Award in 2020.
However, back when he was known just by his full name Harrison Armstrong, the now-25-year-old studied at Hopwood Hall College, who have campuses in both Rochdale and Middleton.
He studied there from 2016-2017, just a few years before his career in music really took off.
Posting a throwback snap of the star on their Facebook page, they wrote: “This #TeamHopwood alumnus looks very familiar…
“Here’s what this star-studded former learner looked like on the day he enrolled to study Sport alongside Maths and English in 2016.
“We can only imagine how much those English lessons must have helped with penning those award-winning lyrics! Care to take a guess who it is…?”

During his time in the ITV jungle, his “cheeky” attitude has won over viewers, with many backing him for King of the Jungle already.
Speaking of being King, Aitch has already had a taste of royalty when he and Angry Ginge were voted as camp leaders for the week – a role both of them took seriously causing some light chaos in the camp.
During Aitch and Ginge’s first morning as camp leader and deputy, they decided to enjoy the luxury of their new positions and snoozed in.
Aitch eventually made his way to greet the others and told them: “The only thing that got me up then was the thought of all you lot slagging me off saying how’s the new leader last up [in the morning]?”
The camp admitted they didn’t understand their sense of humour, as Ruby Wax commented she was a “little” scared.
However, Aitch and Ginge’s friendly rivalry has seen them excel in their solo Bushtucker trials, bringing back food multiple times for their fellow campmates.
Aitch’s most recent trial saw him in a childhood bedroom living in a “nightmare” as various creepy crawlies covered him from head to toe, but he won an impressive 11 stars.
I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! airs nightly at 9pm on ITV1 and is available to stream on ITVX.
