Following his casting on I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! there is new attention over Aitch after becoming an instant fan favourite. A total of 10 celebrities, including Angry Ginge, Kelly Brook and Martin Kemp flew out to Australia for the ITV1 show on November 16.

The campmates will be taking part in Bushtucker trials as they fight for the chance to be named king or queen of the jungle. Last year Danny Jones, famous for his time in McFly, took home to famous title, with Coleen Rooney coming in second place.

One of the stars in the jungle this year is Manchester-born rapper, Aitch, who rose to fame in 2018 with a track called “Straight Rhymez”. The 25-year-old has one Brit Award and had released eleven top-10 singles including Baby and Taste (Make It Shake).

In his time as an rapper, Aitch has collaborated with artists such as Anne-Marie, AJ Tracey and Ed Sheeran. Like with many rappers, Aitch decided to use a stage name to perform under instead of the name he was given at birth.

Aitch’s real name is Harrison James Armstrong, and the reason he chose the stage name “Aitch” is little known. The rapper’s name comes from the pronunciation of the letter H, which is the first letter of his real name, specifically how it is said in his Mancunian accent. It’s understood that his friends called him H for short.

On a video shared on TikTok revealing the reason behind Aitch’s stage name, one person commented: “That’s genius. I was today years old, wth.”

Another person said: “I figured that out the other day while watching Tay and Ginge. Also didn’t know Angry Ginge’s real name was Morgan.”

A third person added: “Omg what what, that actually makes so much more sense.”

Aitch decided to take the plunge and say yes to featuring on I’m a Celebrity in 2025 for his sister, Gracie, who has Down’s Syndrome.

He said: “On an Aitch level, I feel like I have got this calling to raise awareness for Down syndrome and I feel that’s the perfect place. Also, you don’t always want to be stuck in the same world forever.

“You can branch out and do other things. You don’t have to stick to the code (rap world), because you think that’s cool. I did have to cancel some gigs for it. But you are never going to branch out if you do the same thing all the time.”

Since the show kicked off at 9pm on Sunday, November 16, Aitch has stolen sweets that were supposed to be for the entire camp, serenaded Ruby Wax, and hilariously mimicked accents with Tom Read Wilson by ordering “one pepperoni pizza, jalapeños and two curry sauce”.
